Alejandro Seco

Alejandro Seco is co-founder of Ithaka Infrastructure Partners and CEO/CIO of the firm.

Alejandro Seco is co-founder of Ithaka Infrastructure Partners and CEO/CIO of the firm. Prior to Ithaka, he was General Manager of the FCC renewable energy division where he sponsored the growth of the division investing over €1bn in different renewable assets classes including CSP, PV and Wind. Before his time at FCC, Alejandro held different executive positions at UNION FENOSA (the third largest utility company in Spain); where he served as Power Generation investment director for the group and prior to that assistant treasurer. He holds a MSc 5-yr degree in Business Administration from ICADE University in Madrid (Spain), and an Executive MBA at the London Business School (U.K.).

Esther Adroher

Esther Adroher is co-founder of Ithaka Infrastructure Partners and the Chief Legal Counsel and Chief Sustainability Officer of the firm.

Prior to Ithaka, she was Corporate Director at FCC, responsible on M&A and debt related transactions. Before this time at FCC she has held positions of legal associate at several law firms (Spain and UK). She is Spanish qualified lawyer and English Solicitor. She holds a LLM International Business Law at University of Manchester (UK), Executive MBA from Instituto de Empresa (Spain), PDG from IESE (Spain) and Chief Sustainability Officer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (U.S.A.) awarded with the Fire Hydrant Ward from MIT Professional Education for the best Impact Project.

Salvador Alonso is Managing Director for Ithaka Infrastructure Partners

Prior to Ithaka, he was an Associate for the Investment Banking Division of BBVA New York, (U.S.A.), where he focused on advising, structuring, and lending into energy and infrastructure transactions in North America. Before his time at BBVA, Salvador Alonso was a Consultant for Deloitte in Madrid (Spain), where he focused in the energy sector in EMEA. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from ICAI University in Madrid (Spain), and a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (U.S.A.)

. Prior to Ithaka he was a financial, commodity and risk manager at the Economic-Financial department of Naturgy, a listed utility firm based in Spain. Before his time at Naturgy, Guillermo worked at the Economic-Financial shared services center and worked as consultant for Soluziona, an independent advisory firm based in Madrid (Spain). He holds an MBA from IE and a Master’s degree in Law and a Diploma in Economics from the University of Deusto (Spain).

Hermenegildo Franco

Hermenegildo Franco is Operating Partner for Ithaka Infrastructure Partners

Prior to Ithaka, he was Chief Technical and Operations Officer at Marubeni (Portugal), where he was responsible for the operations of a 2,000 MW portfolio of energy generation assets. Before his time at Marubeni, Hermenegildo was a Director in FCC, in independent infrastructure and energy conglomerate based in Madrid (Spain), where he worked in the Energy Division responsible of new renewable greenfield projects. Prior to FCC, he was country manager in Australia and plant manager of several power generation assets in UNION FENOSA globally. He is an Industrial Engineer and holds a MD in electricity and electronics from the University of Navarra (Spain).

Mariano Olmeda

Mariano Olmeda is Senior Advisor at Ithaka Infrastructure Partners.

Prior to Ithaka, he was Deputy General Manager at Banco Santander, where he served as Global Head of Credit, overseeing Bonds, Syndicated Loans, Project Finance, and other types of Structured Finance. He was also globally responsible for restructuring across multiple countries, having led the restructuring of over 60 business groups in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, and Mexico, among others. Before his time at Banco Santander, Mariano was a Manager at Arthur Andersen, first in Audit and then in Financial Advisory. Currently, he is a member of the board and Vice Chairman of Metrovacesa, the largest housing developer in Spain, and a member of the board of Informa and Atlante. Additionally, he serves on the Risk Committee of CRISAE, a debt fund managed by Banco Sabadell. Mariano holds a degree in Business from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with a focus on Finance, Audit, and Consolidation, and he also completed a PDG at IESE.

Juan Luis López Cardenete

Juan Luis López Cardenete is a Senior Advisor at Ithaka Infrastructure Partners.

Prior to Ithaka, he began his professional career in 1976 at Unión Fenosa, where he gained broad experience in the electricity sector, particularly in generation, fuels, planning and control, marketing, sales, and distribution and transmission networks, until 2009. During his tenure, he served as Managing Director of Unión Fenosa and Chairman of Unión Fenosa Internacional. Before joining Ithaka, Juan Luis also held roles as Senior Advisor for Energy at Ernst & Young between 2013 and 2017, and as Director and member of the Executive Committee of Banco Caminos between 2017 and 2018. In addition to his professional roles, he is a member of the Energy and Climate Change Working Group of the Real Instituto Elcano, the editorial boards of Papeles de Energía of Funcas, and Cuadernos de Energía of Enerclub, as well as the group of Diálogos de Energía y Sostenibilidad of Comillas University ICAI, and the Energy Committee of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Juan Luis holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Madrid Polytechnic University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the IESE School of the University of Navarra. He is currently a professor at the IESE Business School.

José Manuel Prieto

José Manuel Prieto is Senior Advisor at Ithaka Infrastructure Partners

Prior to joining Ithaka, he was Senior Advisor to EY, Chairman of San José Energía, and General Manager at Unión Fenosa Internacional, where he led the international growth of the company. In that role, he completed more than 50 transactions, including acquisitions, financing, and sales, while managing a global portfolio of infrastructure and energy companies, amounting to over €3 billion in assets under management and generating more than €500 million in EBITDA. José Manuel has extensive experience serving as a board member for several companies, including Chairman of Red Eléctrica Bolivia, Meralco (the main electricity distributor in Manila, Philippines), Cambridge Water, SEGAS (a midstream gas company in Egypt), and Aquanex (a water distribution company in Spain in partnership with Agbar), among others. Currently, he is also an investor and advisor at Gransolar Group. José Manuel holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a degree in Law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and has completed the PADE program at IESE. He also undertook a course on "Infrastructure in a Market Economy" at Harvard University.
